Product Manager Job Description
Terascala is looking for an experienced Product Management leader to help drive our software solutions for high throughput storage appliances. This position will be responsible for driving customer adoption, defining a world class customer experience, and partnering with development to plan our next generation solutions
Key Responsibilities:
- Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going conversations with customers and non-customers.
- Write MRDs and PRDs to define new products in enough detail for engineering teams to respond to and plan
- Work closely with the engineering department to guide the development of new products through the development cycle while maintaining the necessary focus on existing products and customers
- Develop core marketing materials including overview presentations, roadmaps and white papers that can be used by sales and marketing
- Work with closely with partners to insure requirements are being met
- Assist sales with identifying, qualifying and closing new business opportunities by understating the technical and business needs of the clients.

- Ability to work with engineering teams collaborating on product requirements and designs
- Ability to effectively communicate with prospects and customers including the ability to actively listen, comprehend, and communicate their business and technical needs and to map into product requirements and specifications.
- Effective written skills including the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to diverse audiences including executive management, prospects, customers, salespeople, engineering and partners.
- Ability to create compelling product literature and documentation, sales tools and competitive analysis.
- Ability to evaluate cost/quality/time-to-market trade-offs and to make appropriate trade-off decisions under uncertainty.
- Team player with strong communications, interpersonal, persuasive and negotiation skills. Thinks collaboratively and communicates effectively with people at all levels.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of product management experience with storage solutions, preferably with high performance experience
- BA/BS required; BS in Computer Science/Engineering/Mathematics plus MBA preferred
- Background in the following areas: Linux, Clustered/Grid computing, and large storage systems.
- Experience with clustered computing environments including Lustre file systems
- Willing to travel up to 25% in order evangelize product with partners, customers and business leaders
