Christopher W. Dick
Walter has helped build and finance successful New England-based technology companies for over twenty eight years, including sixteen at Ascent. Prior to joining Ascent, Walter spent twelve years in a variety of executive positions in numerous subsidiaries of UST Corp. including President of its Venture Capital and Corporate Finance Subsidiaries. At UST he worked with investments such as Fire Control Instruments, Madison Publishing, Mathsoft, Nutcracker Snacks and Walking. His current board seats include Akibia Group, BEZ Systems, eCopy, Nova Analytics, Terascala and Whaleback Systems.
Matt Fates
Matt has worked with emerging technology companies since 1996. Prior to joining Ascent in 2002, Matt worked in business development at Gold Wire Technology, a network configuration management software company. Before Gold Wire, Matt served as an Investment Analyst in the Boston office of Norwest Venture Partners where he worked on venture investments such as Broadband Access Systems (acquired by ADC Telecom), Gold Wire Technology (acquired by Intelliden), and COSpace (acquired by InterNAP). He also worked in technology investment banking at Alex. Brown & Sons, where he helped execute both equity and M&A transactions, working with companies such as BBN, CIENA, DSET, RSA Security and SwitchBoard.com. Current investments include HubCast, Interactive Supercomputing, StrikeIron, Terascala and The Corporate Marketplace.
Steve Butler
Steve Butler is Terascala’s CEO. Prior to joining, Steve was CEO of ManageSoft, which was acquired by Flexera Software. He has been a High Tech CEO for the past 15 years including public company Segue Software (acquired by Borland). His history includes a track record of creating rapid profitable growth by building multi-level channels and includes strong international experience – global channels, offshore development & support. Additionally, he has considerable M&A and funding experience including international M&A. Steve holds a BS in Computer Engineering.
Larry Genovesi
Larry Genovesi is Terascala’s Founder and CTO. A founder of Ammasso, Larry was CEO there from 2002 until 2004. From 1989 until 2001, Genovesi led Network Engines as president, chief executive officer, and chief technology officer, responsible for the vision of the company and its products, as well as day-to-day operations and its successful IPO. Prior to joining Network Engines, Larry was founder and president of New England Interconnection Devices, a cable interconnect provider. Earlier in his career Larry held a variety of senior technical positions at Microsystems International, CPU Computer Corporation, and Digital Equipment Corporation.
