The Team
The founding team at Terascala brings years of experience in technology-based product companies. Early in their careers, team members earned their stripes at Digital, IBM, and other computing pioneers. Most began working together at Network Engines, which designed and built high-density, clustered, networked storage and server appliances. They continued their collaboration at Ammasso, which delivered the industry’s first RDMA-enabled Ethernet adapter, bringing the benefit of high performance and low latency to the expanding world of clustering.

Steve Butler is Terascala’s CEO. Prior to joining, Steve was CEO of ManageSoft, which was acquired by Flexera Software. He has been a High Tech CEO for the past 15 years including public company Segue Software (acquired by Borland). His history includes a track record of creating rapid profitable growth by building multi-level channels and includes strong international experience – global channels, offshore development & support. Additionally, he has considerable M&A and funding experience including international M&A. Steve holds a BS in Computer Engineering.

Larry Genovesi is Terascala’s Founder and CTO. A founder of Ammasso, Larry was CEO there from 2002 until 2004. From 1989 until 2001, Genovesi led Network Engines as president, chief executive officer, and chief technology officer, responsible for the vision of the company and its products, as well as day-to-day operations and its successful IPO. Prior to joining Network Engines, Larry was founder and president of New England Interconnection Devices, a cable interconnect provider. Earlier in his career Larry held a variety of senior technical positions at Microsystems International, CPU Computer Corporation, and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Rick Friedman is Terascala’s vice president of marketing and product management. Prior to joining Terascala, he was vice president of marketing at Scali, a leader in management and application performance software for High Performance Computing. Rick was also an early employee at Ammasso and Network Engines, where he focused on marketing and product management. Earlier in his career, he held marketing and engineering roles at Phase Forward, Cadence, Viewlogic, DEC and AMD.

Rick Nagengast is vice president of business development at Terascala. Prior to joining Terascala, Rick was VP Channels Sales and Business Development for Actifio. Previously, Rick was at EMC for 7 years, serving at VP, Global Channels Strategy and America's Distribution. Earlier in his career, Rick was the General Manager for Compaq's $2.2B Americas Storageworks Business, responsible for Strategy, Marketing, Operations and Sales.
